more story on Umar Al-Khattab

Assalamualaikum wbt..

At the time when the muslim army met with the Persian army, they faced difficult situation during the battle. This happened thousands miles from Madinah. The caliph which was Umar Al-Khattab suddenly got the view on how the situation was. Allah permitted him to see this while he was giving khutbah to the people in Madinah. The jemaah was looking at him in great surprised seeing the caliph giving orders like a general in a battle field from the mimbar. Alhamdulillah the muslim army won the battle and they came back to Madinah.

SubhanAllah Allahuakbar. When the army was in Madinah, they told the story where when they were in difficult situation during the battle, they heard the voice of the caliph giving orders to them. Then they followed him and managed to destroy the Persian.

p/s: well, sharing is good right? I might forget this story so I've decided to write it. A reminiscence =)

Happy Birthday my blog !!! Today, 3rd December is my date of birth and also this blog's. It has been 3 years I've been blogging since 2007 and hopefully it will continue until 20xx..InsyaAllah..This blog also resembles my journey in life before I went to Oz, while I were there and after I came back. Love this blog so much..

Long time ha..not updating this blog..I'm quite buzy with a few stuff. But today, I have to say something to my blog since it is its birthday. Hurm a few days back, I had experienced a weird experience (I would say that). What was it? Let us start from here..

A quarter to 5 am, I got a miscall from an unknown number. Then I called the number back at 9 am waiting for the owner to pick it up but no answer. I thought it was my friend's number.. Hidayah Habil. She just got back from Oz for summer holiday so it must be her. Unfortunately I was wrong.

That night, this mystery number sms me. We started to sms ing and in it was all in English (mantap English dia). I kept on asking who he or she was by saying that I didn't like to talk to strangers. After a while, he (the owner was a he) said that he was a boy. a bad boy who is trying to know Allah and trying to be a good muslim. He was asking for my help to guide him.

Here it went: our conversation (via smses)

Mystery number: I'm the school dropout, only know about performing with guitar. I'm bad boy and I'm lost. I sing with the guitar for years to earn my living btw, my friend has asked me to perform during his alumni. I have to sing maher Zain songs. What is your opinion? I want to quit from all this.

Fariena: Erm..actually, you don't have to quit singing. You just have to make sure that your song can bring people to remember Allah, the place where you sing must be clean from maksiat as in they separate the boys and girls.

Mystery number: Ok that's it. I'll quit now. I want to learn about Islam. Where do I start?

Fariena: You know, it is very good if you want to change. I can give you my friend's number which is also a boy. You know it is easier for a boy to learn from a boy. You guys use the same language after all.

Mystery number: "Oh..who is he? why do you think he can help me?

Fariena: Well, he is my friend back in college. He has good knowledge about Islam and you can learn from him. I'm sorry because I'm not the best person to help you. You know we have boundaries between boy and girl in Islam rite?

Mystery number: Oh..Does he perform congregational prayers 5 times a day? Does he has beard or shaved? and more questions that I don't remember.

Fariena: Yes of course he does that and he is shaved clean. Why do you bother for such thing?"(then I regretted for being quite rude..)

Mystery number: "Of course I have to ask that. How come you say he can help me if he shaved? You know that Allah and Rasulullah prohibit us from doing that. I learn it from a kitab."

Fariena: Wait my fren. The beard thingy is just a sunnah which means that it is good for you to follow but if you don't do it you won't get sins. What kitab is that? and from who do you learn that. (dalam hati: ish jgn2 tersilap belajar dia ni. kitab2 ni bukan boleh main ikut sebarangan je. mesti berguru. kalau tak silap tafsir sendri. boleh sesat jadinya)

Mystery number: It is in the kitab which the 4 mazhab have agreed upon it. I didn't learn it from anybody. I just read and try to practice. I'm the jahil one..I jut want to learn Islam thoroughly. If you can't help me it's ok..I'll find somebody else. I'm confused and afraid too.

Fariena: Ok..wait2..I'll try to help you but let be honest with me. Who are you and how did you find me? I'll help you. I'm afraid you'll mix everything up.

Mystery number: Take a rest. May Allah bless you alwez.
(alamak ada silap cakap ke?)

Fariena: Orait then..may Allah guide you to the rite path and don't forget to pray as he is the All-knowing.

Until now, no more messages from him. Did I do any wrong? Don't know but I hope he will contact my friend that can help him or find someone else that can really teach him the true Islam. Let's pray for him.

p/s: There are numbers of our friends out there who are searching for the light of Islam. They are trying to search for the truth and back to the fitrah. We should be thankful to Allah as we are not in their shoes, as we already found it. Thus, let us try our best to be the best muslim who practice it. Remember, this deen is simple. It is the way of life. Know it by heart then you'll feel the beauty of it.

Allah itu Maha Indah. Dialah yang paling indah dan Dialah pemilik segala keindahan. Maka, kepada jiwa-jiwa yang mahukan keindahan, kenalilah pemilik keindahan itu. Nescaya keindahan itu akan datang dan menjadi milikmu.

Wahai jiwa yang tenang! Kembalilah kepada Tuhanmu dengan hati yang redha dan diredhaiNya. Maka masuklah ke dalam golongan hamba-hambaKu, dan masuklah ke dalam syurgaKu. (Al-Fajr:27-30)

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Teringin untuk berkongsi kisah seseorang yang mencuri hati saya dan sangat ingin saya temui.

Dirirwayatkan daripada Muhammad bin Sa'ad bin Abi Waqas daripada ayahnya, bahawa Umar bin Al-Khattab memohon agar diizinkan masuk ke dalam rumah Rasullulah SAW. Ketika itu ada beberapa orang wanita Quraish sedang berbincang-bincang dengan Rasulullah dan mereka berbicara dengan nada suara yang agak kuat, melebihi suara Rasulullah SAW.
Ketika Umar masuk, mereka segera berdiri dan menurunkan hijab. Setelah diberi izin Umar masuk ke rumah Rasulullah SAW sementara Rasulullah tertawa.
Umar bertanya: "Apa yang membuatkan kau tertawa Rasulullah?" Rasulullah SAW menjawab yang bermaksud: " Aku hairan terhadap wanita-wanita yang berdiri di sisi ku ini. Ketika mereka mendengar suaramu, segera mereka berdiri menarik hijab." Umar berkata: " Sebenarnya engkau yang lebih layak mereka segani ya Rasulullah".
Kemudian Umar berkata kepada wanita-waita Quriash itu: " Wahai para wanita bagi yang menjadi musuh bagi nafsumu sendiri, bagaimana kalian segan terhadap diriku dan tidak segan terhadap Rasulullah?" mereka menjawab: " Ya, sebab engkau lebih keras terhadap Rasulullah SAW."
Kemudian Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang bermaksud: " Jangan mulai pembicaraan wahai ibnu Khattab. Demi Allah yang jiwaku berada dalam genggaman tanganNya, sesungguhnya tidaklah syaitan menemuimu sedang berjalan di suatu jalan kecuali dia akan mencari jalan yang lain yang tidak kau lalui."
Diriwayatkan daripada Aisyah r.a bahawa Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang bermaksud:
"Sesungguhnya syaitan lari ketakutan ketika bertemu Umar"
Rasulullah SAW juga bersabda yang bermaksud: " Umatku yang paling penyayang adalah Abu Bakar dan yang paling tegas dalam menegakkan agama adalah Umar"

"verily it is a sign for those who think"

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, I would like to ask all of you, this instance, to take this opportunity to thank Allah for His wonderful blessings to us which are Islam and Iman. Alhamdulillah wa syukrillah..

I had just finished watching a video about two muslim brothers who reverted to Islam after being in such a long journey, searching for the truth. I was shocked as I listened to them saying that they embraced Islam while they were in Houston, Texas. Texas...a place where non-muslims are the majority, where the word 'Islam' is like a word from Mars. People never heard of it before.

Living in a society where they had lost all kind of values really taken them aback and made them thinking about the meaning of life. Isn't it just the same situation that we (Malaysian) are living in? What really holds us back to certain values is that we still have the Malay tradition or the Eastern values. Some might say Islam..ok..accepted.. but do people really apply islam in daily life? Do people really take Islam as the main guide in what they do? Open your eyes and have a good look around you.

Back to those two brothers, they started searching for the truth when they realized that the situation they were living in was not what they wanted. Besides, they knew that life is precious. It couldn't be wasted just like that. They had came to that conclusion because they tried to think and they used their heart and soul when they were thinking. In the Quran , Allah always said, "verily it is a sign for those who think". For those who think and think and keep on thinking about their life. As you start to think, Allah will help to guide you to the right path..As long as you think..

Hurm, sister, you keep on saying think, think and think. Thinking of what?

Well, I assume that you have to think on what you have to think. Let me give one clue :
(As-syams: 7-10)

وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, (QS.91:7)
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا
Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; (QS.91:8)
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا
He will indeed be successful who purifies it, (QS.91:9)
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّاهَا
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. (QS.91:10)

"Verily, it is a sign for those who think"

Ad-Dhuha, penenang hatinya dan diriku

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Alhamdulillah..All praises to Allah for giving me the chance to breath and live happily in this world. All the nikmat are beyond comparison and I really thank Allah for that..

Sorry for being such a lazy person in updating the post. Well, can't really say lazy as I have more aula' (important) things to do. Orite..So, today I would like to share the asbabun-nuzul or the reason why this wonderful surah , Ad-Dhuha was revealed to our prophet, Muhammad SAW. Before that, let us 'basahkan hati' by reciting this surah before we go into detail about it. One, two go...Waddhuha.....


Let me continue this in BM..Why? In order for me to be inline with the MBM and MBI campaign. MBM (memartabatkan Bahasa Melayu) and MBI (memperkasakan Bahasa Inggeris)..

Ad-dhuha, diturunkan untuk menenangkan hati Rasulullah SAW..Kita ikuti asbabun nuzul atau sebab penurunan surah tersebut:

Pejam mata sahaja, dialog-dialog ini berlegar di ruang fikiran saya. "Haha..Muhammad itu gila! Muhammad itu penipu..kalau benar dia itu rasul, mana wahyunya? kenapa sudah tidak turun lagi? Pendusta sahaja dia itu." begitulah tohmahan dan kata-kata nista daripada si kafir Quraish kepada nabi tercinta.

Ini rentetan kepada peristiwa di mana terputusnya wahyu daripada Allah kepada Rasulullah dalam beberapa jangka waktu. Demikian itu, langsung terbit tuduhan-tuduhan tidak bermoral dan menyakitkan hati jika didengari oleh pencinta kepada nabi terulung itu. Ada juga fitnah yang tersebar mengatakan Rasulullah itu bukan nabi sebenarnya.

Baginda rasulullah sungguh hiba sekali mendengar kata-kata sebegitu dan tidak dapat dibayangkan perasaan baginda ketika itu. Kemuncak kepada peristiwa-peristiwa di atas ialah apabila dikatakan bahawa Muhammad telah ditinggalkan Tuhannya. Lalu diturunkan Ad-dhuha untuk menangkis kata-kata tersebut.

Sila baca surah ini beserta terjemahannya untuk memahami apa yang saya katakan.

Namun, bukanlah kata-kata tohmahan itu yang menjadi perkara utama sebab-sebab baginda begitu sedih.

Penyebab paling utama kesedihan itu berlaku ialah wahyu yang amat ditunggu itu tidak kunjung tiba. Wahyu itu sndiri adalah bekalan kepada Rasulullah. Bekalan yang memenuhi kehendak fitrah manusia, mengisi hati yang kosong dan kering. Itulah sebenarnya makanan jiwa. Wahyu itu sendiri adalah bekalan kekuatan Rasulullah dalam berdakwah kepada masyarat yang degil dan sentiasa menentang. Ayat-ayat yang diturunkan memberi ketenangan dan petunjuk kepada baginda untuk meneruskan perjuangan.

"Apabila wahyu terputus seketika, putuslah bekalannya, keringlah mata airnya dan sepilah hatinya dari kekasih. Tinggallah beliau seorang diri di tengah panas terik. Tanpa bekalan tanpa air dan tanpa bau kekasih tercinta yang biasa dinikmatinya"-Syed Qutub-

Kita bagaimana? Sudah berapa lama jauh dari Quran, jauh dari program agama, jauh dari tazkirah peringatan. Ada terasa apa-apa kosong di hati? Jika tidak ada, bimbangilah hati itu.

p/s: People who write, usually write what come from their heart. But it is unsure that it has anything to do with the stake that they are at now. For me, this is what I am at right now. So this is a reminder for myself so do you. If your heart is not at ease, search for ad-dhuha, recite it and read its meaning. Then continue with Al-Insyirah...=)..You'll be at peace and in tranquility.
